Good Points

Refurbishment - meeting up with old friends

Bad Points

None rally, other than the water polo goals should be removed until the water polo games (organised) as on occasion the pool gets taken over by some of the older kids and adults making the youngsters and not so strong swimmers have to leave the main pool. This did not happen every day so it is not really a bad point, just constructive criticism.

General Comments

Olu Deniz, Hotel Karbel - Well, just got back (20 June 05) from our 7th stay at the Karbel. It just gets better & we are quite happy to go again and again. During the closed season there has been extensive refurbishment to the hotel including the addition of 35 new rooms. Most of the rooms have now got UPVC doors and windows (keeps those damn mozzies away - saw 1 in the room over 2 weeks) and all rooms have new bathrooms including hair dryers, the obligatory air conditioning, fridge & TV as standard. Yes there are English speaking programmes - Eurosport, VH1, BBC Prime and BBC World News. The Restaurant and reception area has had major work done on it making it a lot bigger. We understand that at the end of this season, the pool is to be renovated & possibly redesigned. Lots of old faces amongst the staff as well as new staff. Terrific guys. The weather was, as usual, up to its high standards and the resort is still as beautiful to us now as it was 7 years ago. The Karbel has definitely got to be one of the nicest and friendliest hotels around. It is still such good value for money. If you go on a B&B basis you can get 3 meals at the hotel (4th Free) for 20ytl (new Turkish Lira) - just over £8 per person - Kids Free. Doing that enables you to enjoy the Turkish Night/BBQ with the Belly Dancer, etc. There is entertainment almost every night now ranging from the BBQ night to an Illusionist (he appears every fortnight) to Pool Competitions, etc. We arrived home at 8.45pm on Monday 20th June and by 9.30am on Tuesday 21st June we had booked for June 2006!!!
