Port Aventura:
-landscaping at the park is exceptional
-rides and water rides are fantastic (tren de la Mina; Rapidos and Splash)
-food isn't too expensive
-lots of entertainment
- The "lucky games" are great: we won a big Maya and a big Tiger (Winnie the Pooth)and 8 medium toys
- You can use te train or the boats to go faster from one part of the Port Aventura to the other ones
- There are plenty of shows
Caribe Aquatic Park:
- The main pool is "Funtastic", with waves
- There is also entertainment for the kids (even for 6 month babys!)
- Caribe Aquatic Park should have been made bigger. Yet it is great.
- Staff (including the show "stars") should speak also English.
Universal Mediterranea Resort, Port Aventura - The best period to visit Port Aventura is in the begining of June, because the weather is nice, and it isn't too crowded.
The main purpose of our visit, was to go to Port Aventura (June 2005). You mustn't miss it. This Park is GREAT, we really do love it. Staying in the Hotel El Paso**** for 2 nights, gave us access to the Universal Express Pass which provided us:
-unlimited access to both parks (Port Aventura and Caribe Aquatic Park) for 3 days
-access to the best attractions without waiting (Grand Canyon Rapids; Dragon Khan; Stampida; Tren de la Mina; Sea Odyssey; To Tu Ri Splash; Templo del Fuego).
-paying for meals and souvenirs without using money
You must activate the pass on the hotel's reception before using it.
Besides all the above mentioned attractions of Port Aventura, there also many shows - our favourite ones are: The Can Can Show; Fiesta Mariachi - in the Cantina; and the Fort Frenzee.
HAVE FUN and Don't forget to take your SUN LOTION!
The food inside Port Aventura Park isn't very expensive: 2 chili, and 2 colas costed us 16,00€ (in the Cantina). The park is open from 10 a.m to 8 p.m.
Caribe Aquatic Park is opened from 10 a.m. o 6 p.m./ This park has a big pool with waves; a river with buoys and 2 or 3 splashes. You must pay for the safety box (4 Euros).
We also visited Barcelona: The Sagrada Fam lia; the Cathedral; and a big street, where you can find many people selling flowers, reviews, paintings of the Spanish famous painters, portraists; outdoor bars; and some people dressed as "toreros", "sevillanas", "Winnie the Pooth", "Che Guevara", "Reclyced man", and so on. There you can find many beautiful old monuments.
WATCH OUT: someone in a scooter flated one of our tyres (later on we concluded he had cut it with a knife while we were stopped on the traffic lights) and then asked us if we needed a mechanic!! Of course the mechanic must be himself or a friend.
