jessypotter's Review of Barbara Erskine, Child of the Phoenix

Overall Rating
- Value for money

Really catching from the first page, it was so good I almost became the character, I even cried.
Bad Points
The names are extremely hard to pronounce, and the ending sort of dragged on, until the point where I was tempted to put the book down.
General Comments
Barbara Erskine, Child of the Phoenix is is a wonderful story about a woman who can see the future, and stuff, she loved Alexander King of Scotland, but she and him could never be together, Alexander then dies, and she carries on life unhappy, with two children. She's definitely the ladies man, until she finds another man of her dreams, but the spirit of Alexander and her nurse Rhonwen want to put a stop to it. Eleyne also was first married to Alexanders brother John, then a evil abusive knight called Robert, then malcom, then her new love, Donald, it was really exciting not a dull page, until the ending. It does sort of drag on, and loses all sense, but I did cry, laugh, it is also based in 1218.. for all romance lovers, who like a bit of history I recommend this book.
