Good Points

Very rugged and tough - waterproof and dustproof. Useful sound level meter. Great stopwatch facility. Is able to synchronise the calendar with Outlook (brilliant!). Predictive SMS is ace.

Bad Points

Never used the task journal - no comment. PHONE LOCKS UP QUITE FREQUENTLY. I also find the menus slow and the animation unnecessary.

General Comments

The best phone I've had yet. The ONLY bad points (as I say) is that the phone locks up when doing one of two thinks; 1) when deleting an SMS message a little animated trash can appears. Sometimes the phone locks and has to be turned off. 2) Sometimes when synchronising with Outlook the phone will lock SOLID and I have to take the battery out to reset it. I think these are software issues which may be fixed later on but there is no fix at time of writing.

I agree with a lot of the comments here - I previously had an Alcatel One Touch 701 and while initially I was very pleased with this handset I quickly became disillusioned. The car kit Alcatel sell is rubbish!

The Nokia 6250 is superb - my model of the phone sports software version 4.05 dated 20-03-01 (type *#0000#) and the problem with the phone locking up does not manifest itself in this version at all.

Highly recommended if you want a functional phone rather than some stylish accessory that looks good but doesn't work well. Battery life looks set to be excellent (I've only had it a week but and the initial charge lasted about 5 '24 hour days'). It usually takes two or three charges for the battery to reach it's best anyway.

i had a motorola v50 that kept on going faulty, after 5 phones in 1 month my network provider agreed to give me a new phone. i wanted a phone that worked, that looked grrr.the 6250.not a poncey little thing that can't hold a signal. this is the phone that everybody should have then there would be a lot of happy people about.it's got wap,it's just so fast and easy to use,it can vibrate,it can survive a drop of up to 3 metres and immersion in water for up to 1 minute, these are just a few things it can do.it's a good phone.get one today and put that smile back on your face.
