Good Points

Powerful PCP (adjustable), accurate (tested to 100 yards), trigger is easy to learn, consistent pellet velocity, high number of shots before refill, light weight, very quiet, breaks down for easy transportation, accessory rail, furtile ground for tinkering, inexpensive, ultra-simple design.

Bad Points

Light weight is negative for off hand distance shots. Could be remedied with weights attached to shroud accessory rail. Likely will need to add different buttstock if adding weight forward of forearm. Not a repeater.

General Comments

Talon SS with 12" Walther barrel in .22 caliber. Barrel on this model is shrouded, thus noise level is significantly subdued. Also comes in 18" unshrouded Walther barrel. Owner since mid-December 2002 with approx. 600 pellets fired as of this review. Chrono'd Crossman Premiers @ 803fps +- 4fps, Beeman Kodiaks @ 724fps +- 4fps in strings of 10 shots each. I typically shoot about 50 pellets before recharge. Accuracy: shooting CPs at rest, all holes touching at 30 meters, approx 3/4-inch at 50 meters, and approx. 2 inches at 100 meters. Powerful enough to knock down .22 rimfire silhouettes at all of these ranges--those are heavy gauge steel (3/8"?). Light weight makes this rifle more challenging for longer range off-hand accuracy. Could be fixed by attaching weights via one of the accessory rails. For field carry, just get the bi-pod or fire from kneeling or prone position. If you like to tinker with your toys, this is the PCP for you. The design is so simple any DIY'er can have a ball. Change calibers, experiment with different barrel lengths (there are a few after market manufacturers), add accessories, adjustable power allows you to tune rifle to different pellets, change pistol grip, move forearm, etc. The list is long. Be sure to mount scopes with Beeman high mounts, due to the shape of the air tank/stock.

On low power, how many shots do you get? I'm considering getting a PCP, as I am through with springers. I'm stuck between the BSA MkII, Air Force Talon SS, and Hw100. It's a tough decision. Do you know what the c-t-c is on the TalonSS?
