Good Points

-Great staff: Friendly and helpful
-Accommodation is basic-but anything you want, staff will get it for you
-central Kotu location: Not far from the beach, senegambia and surrounding villiages. Fjarah market is just a walk up the road. Close to the river.

Bad Points

Can't think of any to be honest-although it is a little honey pot for the locals trying to make some money-who are prehaps a little over zealous!

General Comments

Badala Park Hotel is simply the best place to stay in Gambia! Yes the accomodation is basic, but this is Gambia, remebering that essentially it is still a third world country. If you want deluxe-Gambia isn't the place to be (Try Dubai!).
Badala Park has a wonderful location, close to the beach, mini-markets, craft markets and tourist hotspots such as Bakau, the nature reserve and monkey park, Serrenkunda and local villiages.
The best thing about the hotel for us (and we have been there several times) is the staff-so friendly, warm and welcoming. Very pleasent and well-mannered, be their friend and they will love you right back. We have been on several occassions, and have made great friends with most of the staff whom we are now very close to. If you get there before we do, tell them Ben and Jason say Hello-and you will see just how wonderful they are!
The pool is great, right in the middle of everything and not a bad size (Not olympic-but we are on holiday!) and there is entertainment every evening. Food from the resturants on site is fine, offering both English and local dishes, but ensure that you visit other resturants and eateries outside of the hotel-well worth it.
The hotel is always clean, and the cleaning staff are wonderful-please show them respect when you visit.
The grounds of the hotel offer a sub-tropical setting with coconut and palms, flowers etc, and provide a nice feel to the hotel.
Simply wonderful!
