Good Points
Good value, comfy capable and fun

Bad Points
Some dodgy electrics, head bearings can wear, needs to be looked after properly.

General Comments
I sell these, and lots of them at that!

The Piaggio X9 500 Scooter is a very pleasant machine to ride, and has many attractive features including PICS (Radio/ Intercom/ Phone interface) Elec. stand, Superb 460cc fuel injected engine and huge underseat store.

Some of the electrics are prone to water damage, but this can be prevented by careful preperation by a caring dealer.

The motor is a cracker, and handling/ brakes/ chassis are capable and secure with or without a full load.

Buy carefully, look after the X9 and it will prove a well loved friend.

Neglect and poor quality servicing are really not this machines scene, it likes a little care!

Later Evo models have minor but worthwhile improvements such as Stainless Exhaust.

I use X9's for pleasure regularly, and always enjoy the ride!

You mention that you sell a lot of these. Can you shed any light on my issues with the centre stand breaching the bottom of the engine/oil filter? The dealer who sold me the bike admitted that info had come from Piaggio asking that a rubber on the stand is replaced on every service. This wasn't done on my bike, hence my problems. (See my review above) Piaggio refused to confirm that this info existed. I am very, very disappointed with the build quality and reliability of this bike. Am I alone in that in your informed opinion?

The stand roller needs to be lubricated at each 4000 mile service, and failure to do this will end in tears.

This is not a defective design, just a service item that your dealer clearly did not attend to.

They take a long long time to eat through the rubber buffer and then the casing/ oil filter!

New models do not have this, so there is one less thing to maintain.

Yours is not the first victim of poor qulity servicing, I sympathise with anyone in your situation. Please accept my apologies for your experience however.
