Smooth, quiet, famous Rekord trigger (superb right out of the box), very accurate. Easy on lesser built airgun scopes.
As with other break barrel spring piston airguns, care must be exercised not to allow the barrel to snap closed while cocking or a bent barrel or cracked stock could (or worse)* could occur. * I've read about guys getting hit in the head by barrels snapping up.
The .177 caliber Beeman R7 is a classic. It is as well suited for beginners as it is experienced shooters. The R7 is easy to cock. Confidence grows fast with a gun that hits what it is aimed at. Children and women will find this rifle a pleasure to shoot. You can plink or target shoot all day long without getting fatigued. It is deadly accurate on small pest birds. Being spring powered means there are no air tanks or pumps to haul around. Multiple strokes are not required to get 700 fps+ from light pellets. All pellets perform well in my R7, with 8.2 grain RWS Meisterkugelns and 7.7 grain* Chinese Tech Force Match pellets being favored. The fit, finish, and overall workmanship of the Beeman R7 is top notch. If noise is one of your concerns when looking for an airgun, rest assured that the R7 is quiet. For the casual airgunner, this could possibly be the only airgun you'll ever need. Bo Derek + the R7 = 20! *pellets advertised as 7.7 grains actually weighed 7.9 grains on my Ohaus 10-10 reloading scale.
