In my opinion Con artists in the form of salesmen who are keen to sell your car.


General Comments

The first person that called me from AutoMatch made me a bit wary, I didn't want to spend money to sell my car, when I had only that day posted my car on the Internet. I told him to send me some information via email - he didn't.

The next salesman called a few days later. I was keen to sign up as my car was not getting any buyers. He put me onto his manager who took my card details for £69.95. That was three days ago and I have heard nothing since! Then another company started to call I became very suspicious and informed him that I already had someone acting on my behalf, he pointed out that if they have done nothing then they weren't going to. I contacted my bank trying to get the money recalled - but could not. However, they directed me to trading standards as quite a few customers had been hit in this way. Tried directory enquiries to get Automatch's telephone number and was told that there was no listing for them in the whole of the UK. Tried the Internet and stumbled across this site so here I am posting my entry. Contacted consumer direct who informed me that they needed an address or details of the company and as far as they could see there was no civil breach, and that the only thing that can be done is to contact my local trading standards office and log the incident, in the hope that they may one day create an Enterprise Act to discipline these types of companies. Begger that! I'm gonna call Watchdog.

    What "Sheerclass" seems to miss from his/her review is when they registered full confirmation and receipts would have been sent with all the Company“s details (i.e. name, address, contact numbers, email address). Reading this review it is as though the Company took his money and ran. Totally misleading review and very unfair
