Small planes, flew on time.


Bad Points

Not enough sausage in the egg and sausage sandwich.


General Comments

I'd never heard of VLM before I ventured south from Manchester to London City Airport this year. We were on a Fokker 50 plane which has got about 40 seats, on the way down there were only 12 people on the plane, not bad for £20, I felt a bit of a rock star in a private plane. Although a bit more room would have been nice, you can't get too upset at the price and you're not on it long enough to really have a legitimate complaint. VLM were also kind enough to give a sandwich to keep us busy for our 45 minute flight and a glass of juice, coffee or wine. Not bad really though and bit more sausage in the sausage and egg sandwich wouldn't have gone amiss. If you've never flown to/from London City airport I highly recommended it because the view of the city is pretty sweet. The main bonus of the Fokker 50 is that the wings are on top of the plane so don't obstruct your view when looking down. All in all VLM were very friendly and very good, all flights on time and I would happily fly with them again.

    I booked a direct flight from Brussels to Manchester with VLM. when I was checking in , I was told the flight was going to London, and then to Manchester, because this airline doesn't do that direct route on saturdays. Back at home, I tried to book the same route on a saturday and nowhere on its web site was told anything about that restriction. I sent a complaint to the airlines, but after a month all I have got from them is a reference number for my complaint, and nothing similar to an apology or an explanation.
    I won't ever fly with this company
