Styling: attractive, option of wall mounting is a bonus. Picture quality is good.

Reliability and build quality is appalling.
General Comments
The Philips 32PF9964 flat screen TV has an inbuilt fault which Philips are aware of, but seem unable or unwilling to repair permanently. A defect in the On/Off control causes the monitor to repeatedly switch itself off. The couriers tell us this is the most common fault with these systems and although Philips have resolved this in their latest models they are not putting the new switches into older models that are returned to them for repair. In less than 2 years the switch on our system has had to be replaced twice. On the first occasion this took 3 weeks. The second time (now) they have had it for 4 weeks and have now lost the tuner box! We were advised to take out an extended warranty for future problems, but why should we have to pay for that when the fault is obviously with the quality of the component parts. Phone calls to their service centre leave you holding on for ages, they never seem to have the correct information, and promises to call you back do not materialise. Considering the cost of their equipment their customer services is dreadful.
