General Comments

Just got a Sony RDR HX510 yesterday after owning a Sony RDR-GX3 DVD Recorder for about 1 year. I know it's early days but I am very impressed at the outset. Extremely easy to use. Can't hear the hard disk at all. Can do lots of amazing things like copying DVD to HD and vice versa. Chasing playback (start watching a recording while it's still recording.) Watch this space but so far so good.

   Quick question Kev, been looking at this item for myself and noticed it has 2 scarts but only one is RGB compatible. I would be wanting to record from Sky box using RGB (better quality than composite) then playback to TV again with RGB. This possible from your experience?

   I don't seem to be able to use the pause function if watching tv through my freeview box. Have you had a similar problem or am I simply doing something wrong?
   
   Would appreciate your thoughts as you clearly have more DVD experience than I do!

   I have a sky box and can pause live tv. Have you got the freeview box going into the recorder via scart socket L3? Presumably you then have a scart out of L1 to your TV and no separate scart directly linking TV and freeview box. If set up like this and you have L3 selected on the input selection on the recorder, HDD selected as the recording medium and should then be able to press pause and have a "pause" icon appear on the tv screen. Leave it paused at least 10 secs and then press pause or play to set it running again. hope this helps!

   You will have to make sure you are watching freeview through a line input on the RDR-HX510. That is L1, L2 etc. Pause should then work ok. hope this helps.
