Good Points

Excellent beach and reef offering unforgettable snorkerling and diving. Fabulous natural setting.


Bad Points

Food fairly average with buffet but ok speciality dining offered some variety with service. Son had a Gameboy stolen from his room despite it having only been left a short time. Manager assisted a little with this but could not help feel a little tainted by this. Reported this in Tulum police station an experience short of dusty lock up. We were grateful for the taxi driver's assistance with translation.


General Comments

Mayan Riviera, Akumal Beach Resort - Despite a few issues we would certainly recommend this resort but please don't wear reef shoes. Continuous wear on the reef, i.e., coral will certainly damage this spectacular natural resource and the creatures it supports. We swam with turtles, rays and numerous fish. Let's hope and pray it remains for many many years.
