Haven Holidays, Primrose Valley Review

Good Points
It was only 2 hours from home.
Filey is not far away and is a quaint town.
The views are quite nice from the cliffs.

Bad Points
The accomodation.
The prices.
The staff attitude.
The company.

General Comments
Haven Holidays Primrose Valley - We arrived for a 4-night bank holiday break. We had pre booked 3* accomodation and were told check in was 3.30pm. We arrived at 3pm and waited patiently with our 3 children untill 3.30pm. At this point we were given a raffle ticket to queue to check in to our accommodation. The ticket No was 102 which meant that 101 other families had to check in before I could. We eventually got checked in at 4.50pm and the accommodation given was a chalet. 5 mins later we arrived at chalet 104 near the boat lake and it was disgusting !!! The whole place stunk of damp, the furniture had more stains than a tramp's underpants, the beds literally had things moving on them and you had to wipe your feet on the way out!!! We contacted reception and asked if they had seen the state of accommodation offered, they said no as they were stuck in the office but they knew that some were quite bad! Which to be fair was quite an understatement. We were then offered a caravan which was a little better, but not good, so we stayed for two nights until my wife and kids had had enough so we went home.

To be fair, the location of the site is good, and Filey is a nice town and some of the staff were quite helpful, but on the whole I would recommend that people stay on an independent site rather than one owned by Haven Holidays.
