size, display, background digital clock font, handsfree operation, not many ringtones available, great value for money.
Bad Points
Can't add to T9 database, minimal non-melodic ringtones, menus can be slow, keypad lock/unlock somewhat cumbersome, handsfree not very powerful - need quiet room, despite the groovie polyphonic ringtones, those available are rather lame. Joystick sometimes thwarted. Lack of 3rd party config/hacking utilities. No permanent belt clip.
General Comments
Great little phone, with larger more visible display than on equivalent Nokias. The Joystick is nice, but I'm not sure its what I really want: when trying to do a centre position selection, I'll often slip & get an off centre selection.
Forget about trying to get ringtones for this unit - I'm not sure that any reasonably sized collection exists. Even then, I find most of those available are somewhat lame - almost embarrasing.
Since all tones from this phone are recreated digital waveforms, rather than from bepper units (??), it has a tinniness and lack of oomf about it. This also results in a slowdown of gui navigation.
Car kit is pretty good, although I have the small antenna mounted on the front windscreen, which is causing audible screeching when the unit is boosting power between cells.
Love that ~ fullscreen digital clock. nice one!!
While the handsfree is a nice touch, I rarely find it loud enough for a relaxed conversation. Usually end up holding it near my head to hear the other party.
I'm not sure about other phones, but the inability to add to the database used by the T9 input system is annoying.
I'm also annoyed at the considerable lack of 3rd party config tools that the Nokia world enjoys. Presumably thats more a panasonic thing than a GD75 one.
Yes, I mention lots of negative points, but I'm generally happy with the unit - especially the size - downside to this is I often worry about losing it! :)
