Good Points

81 Blazer K5 here. Rugged and indestructable. I got to push start a ford with it today =). Enough room for me, wife, and two kids. No worries about someone hitting me.... not my problem.... didn't feel it LOL.

Very easy to work on and get parts for. Parts trucks are a dime a dozen so I picked one up for $100 and put in the whole interior. Running a 350 from a vette with a turbo 350 tranny. 33 12.50s under a 4 inch lift.

Bad Points

Stock radiator sucks in Arizona. Upgraded to 4 core and electronic fan to fix that problem.
Can get real hot on the toes when motor is hot. (I don't have carpet or heat shielding)

General Comments

I paid $800 for my Chevrolet K5 Blazer and I can't complain a bit. Ebay auction that went bad for the seller. It's so easy to get parts for it being that the body and interior was used on the blazer, jimmy, suburban, pick-up, etc.... for several years. If you get bored, just hit up a junkyard and upgrade something for next to nothing. I got it from a guy that only used it for wheeling and then let it sit for a year and a half outside his house. When I got it, it started right up and I drove it across the state to get it home. Only problem was the thermostat stuck and I started to overheat. So, I pulled over, let it cool, pulled it out, and went on my way.... To freaking cool!!! I love it, and my last truck was a 2001 Dodge Ram with 4 in lift and 36in mudders. Comfortable, but not a great wheeler. Not to mention, there's a huge difference in $30,000 and $800 you can't ignore. I think it's great.
