Bad Points
Basic rooms, stentch of stale tobacco smoke in communal areas. Hotel seems to offer the bare minimum to qualify for it's rating.
General Comments
Sol Magalluf Park Hotel hotel wasn't for me, stayed there just one night and asked Thomson to move me away from both the hotel and the resort. No air conditioning, a stench of stale tobacco smoke in most areas, My room lacked any of the little extras like tissues, complimentary soap was from a dispenser screwed to the wall which was hard to squeeze. The dining room was clean, but stuffy, orange juice tasted awful and not at all like fresh orange, didn't even offer the little individually wrapped portions of butter/margarine. No porter service, carpets on stairs were threadbare in places.
At night sleeping was difficult, due to nearby night life and noisy guests returning to their rooms at all hours, I had a drunk man banging and kicking at my room door shouting obscenities at around 3am, It seems his wife had locked him out, he was banging on the wrong door. If like my wife and I, you enjoy being made to feel a little special, you enjoy dressing up to look smart for dinner with like minded considerate and sociable guests around you, don't go here. Just one night and I was so disappointed I would have returned home if Thomson had not been able to move me. I was moved to the Rocamarine hotel in Cala D'or, a wonderful hotel by comparison.

on 10th May 2006Were thinking of booking this hotel for a cheap getaway in July purely because a friend who lives out there can get fantastic discount. They have told us that it is nice, basic etc... with a nice pool. We had the worst holiday of our lives last year in Turkey and don't want the same to happen again. Would you say that £400 half board for 2 people (£400 total cost not per person for 2 weeks) is worth it? We know its not going to be the lap of luxury but its just a little getaway as we have a bigger holiday booked for later this year.

on 10th May 2006Possibly depends on your age, if you are 50+ you may not enjoy it so much, my wife enjoys dressing up for evening meals and dining with others who have also made the effort, in this hotel at the time we were there, few people seemed to really make that effort. However, based on your budget and expectations, if you are youngish, give the Magalluf a go, you might well be pleasantly surprised. I hope you have a lovely holiday whatever you decide.

I don't understand. . . you keep saying it depends what you are used to . . . .you sound like your stuck up and require everything to be perfect . . .if this is not what you are used to then why on earth are you going to Magaluf and staying in a 3* hotel . . . . . . . i just cant understand it . . ..

on 30th Jun 2008At the time I visited I think it was a 4 star hotel, seems it has since been down graded. My review is now more than 3 years old.
