Bad Points

The trigger is the only thing I would change.

General Comments

BSA SuperSport .22: I recently had a HW97k & traded it in because it was just too "overkill" for the backyard.
Not long passed & i had to get hold of another rifle for some shooting. The BSA Supersport was at a cheap price at a gun shop due to its condition. The woodwork was a bit tatty especially where the rubber recoil pad joins the butt. I guess its been stood in a damp place & the damp has got under the enamel. The metalwork in comparison was slightly better .. apart from the barrel being raised .. With my 3-9 x40 scope fitted I had to pack the front of the scope up .. probably more than normal to get the best zero. The accuracy of the gun seems to vary from being very good to just questionable ... This is a critical comment because I would guess a newer rifle would be really good .. but for the condition & usage this gun ain't bad.
I've spent a few days removing the gloss of the woodwork & re-stained after several hours of polishing with some 600 grit paper & can say its made the rifle looks so much better than the shinny scratched finish.
How do I compare the 2 rilfes .. well the HW97k was brand new .. had a 3-9 x50 scope.
Whereas the BSA is used .. has a new 3-9 x40 scope. The major diference is the weight. I'm not a big build so the BSA suits me a lot better simply because its so much lighter!!!!
I don't think I would have liked to carry the Weighraugh round a field for a day!
The HW97k was consistently accurate .. & I couldn't really find a pellet it didn't like .. At the moment im using lazerpells & gamos with the BSA & I can't really see any difference apart from a bit of erratic behaviour .. it may even be the scope .. or light weight.
My wife likes to have a shot with it & says the brake barrel is easier to load ... & I think I agree with her on this point ..
