General Comments

Like others I received a letter in the post yesterday from Intelligent Finance stating that as from the 8th July 2005 all customers with Visa credit cards are going to be "dumped".

The reason given is because of their system not being able to cope with the new chip & pin system. It is proposed that all IF customers have to contact Halifax Bank or others and make their own arrangements for a credit card and re-arrange all of their direct debits. There is no mention why at least they are not making the arrangements with Halifax to issue either a no intertest or reduced interest card A "rather disgusting" way of conducting business. I have the offsetting arrangement with them it now means that this goes by the board. The time scale involved is very unprofessional and could cause undue stress to some people.

Confusion reigns at IF because a couple of months ago I received a letter stating that they were going over to the chip & pin system and my current Switch card would become a Visa debit very soon. So now their system can't use the system so I assume I can't have a debit card either? or for that matter a cheque guarantee card!

Is my money saved with them safe? Is IF about to become Halifax Bank? Is there something unsavory going on in IF land?
