Good Points

Huge free-roaming world, web-swinging system, Spidey-Sense, fighting system.

Bad Points

Story Too short, side missions too short.

General Comments

Spider-Man The Movie 2: I have always been a huge Spider-Man fan. And when the first movie was released, of course a game followed. It was okay, but just the average action game. The second Spider-Man movie was released and a game was again followed. This was the way a Spider-Man game should be. Basically, New York is this spider's play ground. He can go wherever he wants, within reason. After you beat the game and the story is over, you can do whatever you want.

There are 2 types of web-slinging: Automatic and manual. In auto, you press the Swing button and let the game carry you. In manual (which I recommend to everyone) the player controls when the next web will go and where it will go. You can also go slow down or speed up. This new system of web-swinging is fun and you actually feel like what Spidey himself would while playing.

The Spidey-Sense is pretty cool too. If a bullet or a swinging fist comes towards Spidey, his head will flash indicating his "Spidey-Sense" is going off. At this time, the you can hit "X" (on GC controllers) to dodge the attack.

The fighting system in Spider-Man 2 is similar to the one in the first Spider-Man game. Except there aren't so many weird unrealistic combos that the "real" Spider-Man cannot pull off. Also in Spider-Man 2, there are way more combos involving web slings. You can tie enemies up on telephone poles, pull enemies towards you, lasso enemies with your web, and much more. This new system is way better than the last. It has more realistic moves and more web-sling based moves.

There is a little bit of replay value, but the actual game itself doesn't take more than 8-10 hours to beat. The sides missions will keep you busy, but you will soon get tired of them because there are only 15 or so different situations and they don't take too long to complete.

After the game is over, there are a bunch of extra records and races you can choose to beat, so the game isn't really over if you like to beat every little thing in games. Overall, I think this Spider-Man game is best one yet.
