A true, deep and meaningful tone that just oozes character. There isn't anyone else in the music industry quite like her. Her voice is more developed than singers who have been in the industry for years. She makes you listen to every song in detail as you notice all the subtle details that she adds. The album has some great songs and covers with Super Duper Love being an ultimate summer song. Whereas her cover of The Chokin' Kind is unbelievable but I think that the best track on the album is Victim Of A Foolish Heart. It won't grab you at first as being the best track but the more and more that you listen to it the better that it sounds. There is nothing quite like it.
I don't think there are many bad things about the album but for some people it can be quite heavy and tiring. Also some people feel that at times she oversings but I disagree.
Joss Stone, The Soul Sessions is an amazing debut album that has so much going for it. It will be remembered for years, there is just so much soul in her voice it's hard to grasp that she sung this when she was only sixteen. To sum up, this is an amazing funky soul album that deserves to be remembered as a classic.
