Spacious compact car. Economical powerful engine (90bhp). Comfortable ride. Nice looking. Air con. Additional rear power socket. 2 year/12,000 service interval.
Feels heavy. Doesn't hold the road as well as saloon version.
I test drove quite a few cars before I decided to buy the Peugeot 206 2.0 HDI S SW. This was the only car that fulfilled everything I wanted in terms of size, internal space, ride comfort & power within my budget. The power socket in the back is very handy for powering a cool box or for a portable DVD player for the kids to watch. Enough room for 4 adults and weekend baggage comforably but struggled a bit with luggage for a two week holiday.
Motorway cruising is very relaxed with low noise levels - one of the reasons I went for the 2.0 diesel which quietly purrs along at motorway speeds.
I haven't measured the economy but when on holiday for two weeks, my brother got through 2 tanks full of unleaded in his 1.2 Clio to my one tank of diesel!
If I didn't need the extra internal space I would of bought the saloon but this is the best compromise I could come to.
