32 MB internal RAM and 3x Optical Zoom for a sub $150 product.
Supports Vedio with sound (limited only by the available memory)
Good features for entry level and intermediate level users.
Support on alcaline battery (supplied) and rechargable.
LCD display size is 1.5" only.
Manual is not detailed enough
When I decided to buy a good digital camera, the Sony CyberShot DSC-S40 was not my choice. However, after considering the price I decided to buy this model. I have been using this for a month now. It is good, with cool features.
I was struggling for a few days with the camera trying all menu options as the manual was not very specific. After finding them, using it became child's play.
I tried with some features like taking pictures in dark, parties, and scenaries etc. Things are fine. The supplied battery died after the 62nd picture (including a few vedios too) as I was using the LCD display for a long time. To solve the problem, I got a set of rechargable batteries.
If the rechargable goes off when I am on tour, I can still buy any alcaline and continue with the work.
Image quality is good.
