General Comments
(This review refers to the 100% ceramic 210 degrees version)
I got these straighteners after finding out the price of GHDS (£80+). They took a while to come but this was understandable as my house is up an unmarked country lane. So far I am pleased with them; they heat up quickly (under a minute) and are easy to use. They are solid ceramic so they don't snag my hair unlike my Nicky Clarke straightforward ones that were good but the ceramic coating was starting to chip off.
I have very thick wavy hair and it straightens it with ease (as with all heat appliances I would recommend using a heat protection spray) They leave my hair shiny and sleek. If you are going to use straighteners frequently you must condition and protect your hair because any heat styling will cause damage.
I have read reviews and had friends who say GHD and other high priced, high heat straighteners have a tendency to overheat or blow up, however this seems to be something common with all high heat appliances so it makes better sense to spend £40 than £80. (I must stress that so far I have had no problems at all with mine) They are also under a 14 day money back guarantee if you're not happy with them (so keep the packaging) They have a 12 month warranty if they become faulty. So you have nothing to lose. I'm so glad I didn't spend £80 on GHDS.
