Good Points

Extremely robust, great design, choice of loaf size up to 1kg, memory to store 5 of your own programs, fruit/nuts dispenser, horizontal pan so you can add toppings, on/off switch, clear step by step instructions, 24 hr timer, recipe cards.

Bad Points

a little noisier than my previous breadmaker (prima) but I put that down to it being much more powerful.

General Comments

After buying the Russell Hobbs 10006 Breadman Ultimate, my old breadmaker is now in semi retirement, (a prima who's breadpan is a bit worse for wear after many lovely loaves - still in use for dough though!) so after much research I decided on a Breadman Ultimate. Oh the excitement when the delivery van arrived! I had great expectations for this machine and couldn't wait to put it to the test. The first loaf I tried was a fruit loaf, as I have made many of these in my previous machine, the results were wonderful, the fruit/nut dispenser throws in the fruit at just the right moment so that it doesn't get ground up to bits, the loaf glided effortlessly out of the pan and the texture was just right and held together well when put through the slicer, I selected medium crust which gave a chewy crust and perfect centre. After that I made a lighter white loaf, again amazing results, a nice size loaf, great texture, taste etc (following recipe included). I cannot fault the machine and would say that it is a great upgrade if you have owned a basic machine and now want a little more versatility. My kids who are fussy eaters (aren't they all?) absolutely love home made bread and I have the satisfaction of knowing exactly what goes into it, only trouble is as soon as they smell the bread, they are queuing up for some and then I have to start again - no chance of it going stale in our house!! I am extremely happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it.
