Good Points

Cutting out sugar is obviously healthy

Bad Points

No uk support, uk dept of atkins has been shut down. Lack of products to support diet in the uk, range of food to eat is dry meat and some veg.

General Comments

I've been on this Atkins Diet-following it 100%, I lost 6 lbs in 3 weeks, and the past week (4th week on it) i've not lost anything. I have emailed the uk web based atkins for help 3 times, and no response. I emailed the USA site twice and got one auto response - then almost TWO weeks later a useless email - with no answers to my questions. I dont have any extra energy- I feel miserable at the expensive dull food i'm eating, and i'm going to stop in a few days and try another diet as this one - to do it in England- its pointless - we dont support it - the low carb products we sell contain sugar- which we cant eat!

Hi, I've been doing the Atkins for a while now and I have to reply to your question. In order to boost the weight lost you need to do some cardio. For me I noticed that I started loosing and then stopped while on the Atkins. Only when I increased my cardio to almost an hour plus weight lifting that I started loosing again. Hope this helps! Good luck! Loosing weight is not easy. But so easy to gain it all back. You just have to stay focus and have a long term goal... exercise should always be a daily thing or at least 3/4 times a week. :)

Can I ask what you were eating? The range of foods I eat on Atkins are amazing, I eat far healthier now than I ever did either on low fat diets or before I started dieting. Dry meat and veg??? You obviously did not read the book, and if you needed help than there are loads of low carb forums on the net, full of people who have been there, done that, and are full of helpful advice and suggestions ie. http://www.low-carbdiet.co.uk

I started on Atkins in June of 2003. By March of 2004 I had lost a total of 65 pounds and have never felt better! The first phase is the most restrictive, but you can do lots of things with spices, etc. And the Atkins website has tons of recipes for each phase. The liquid shakes are very tasty as are the breakfast bars. You don't necessarily have to purchase Atkins brands in order to get low carb items! The best advice is to thoroughly read the book, get online and get some great recipes (a Google search will reveals thousands of low carb recipes), experiment in the kitchen, and have fun. Losing weight is never easy, but if you keep your goal in mind, you will achieve it! Once you've lost your weight, get rid of your fat clothes! I've maintained my weight loss since 2004. For the UK person, Atkins has a toll free customer service number. It is 1-800-228-5467. You can talk with a live person and get the answers that you need. Good luck!
