Flight didnt take off.
We checked into the airport on the 3rd April 2005 on our way to Thailand. I had to be in Thailand the next day to get married. We got to the check in desk to be told that the flight had been delayed in United Arab Emirates until Tuesday the 05th April (2 days later) and that we would be put up in a hotel until then. I explained that this was not possible as I was getting married; basically they said they couldn't do anything about this. We telephoned the tour operator duty officer who wasn't aware of the situation and wasn't very helpful. We purchased a new flight ticket with another airways that were fantastic at a cost of £581.80 per ticket. We have returned only to find that Phuket air are based in Bangkok and we cant get to speak to anyone English that we can only claim a small proportion of our flight ticket back and that our insurance policy doesn't cover anything except travel delays and we can claim £30 each. What a farce basically. I did telephone our tour operator a week prior to departure to tell them that I didn't wish to travel with Phuket air as it happened we didn't but at a total cost of £4200 as there were 7 tickets in our wedding party. We have since found out that the flight on Tuesday didn't leave the uk it was grounded by the department of transport.
