The Drossia Palms is a great hotel set back just of the main strip in Malia. Its 2 mins walk to the beach and 2 mins in the other direction to all the main bars and clubs. The hotel itself is very clean and well run. Although rated at 3 star I would say its closer to 4 star. The staff are very laid back and friendly, Stavros and Gregory (the bar staff) especially. The food is pretty good, if you're not too hungover to eat that is. The swimming pool is very clean and set in nice relaxing grounds. I went early June so the heat wasn't too bad, but if you wanted there was Air-con available (at a price). The hotel is very quiet both in the day and at night, which is good because the rest of the resort is buzzing.
The only bad point I can think of is that if you are lucky enough to pull and bring someone back with you, then you have to pay 30 Euros for them to stay the night. It is a bit harsh but they have good reasons for this. However we we're on good terms with the manager and he didnt really enforce this on us.
Its difficult to describe how much I rate Drossia Palms. Having been to Magaluf, Ibiza, Benidorm, and Faliraki I know all too well the types of places you can end up in. Drossia Palms is 1st class for where you are going. I liked it so much I'm going back again this year.
