Easy on the pocketbook. Fits in bed of pickup. Light to load, solid performer off-road. Parts available, easy to work on. 6-speed, so highway speed (I cruise 55 but will do up to 70) is there. No mixing fuel. Its not a 2 stroke.
It's not a 2 stroke (2strokes produce 2x power of 4stroke for same displacement). Hot blooded, will not start in really cold weather and takes a long warmup in chilly weather. Not for heavy rider. A little tall for short-legged people (under 5'-5")
I bought this Yamaha XT225 Serow 225 offroad bike as a "refresher ride" to see if I wanted to return to dirt-bike riding. I did not want to have to trailer in to my ride spots, I wanted a commuter to get to work and I wanted fuel economy and low-maintenance. This bike has met all my expectations. It will not satisfy the hardcore horsepower hungry type, but as a starter or for someone like me who is testing the water (again), I highly recommend.
