I love this Nintendo GameCube system. I haven't had one for very long, but it's the best. So many great games along with an easy to use controller. There are so many exculsive games on it, inlcuding Super Smash Bros. Melee, all the Zelda games, F-Zero GX, Mario Kart Toadstool Tour, Mario Kart Double Dash, Mario Power Tennis, and much, much more. The other systems like to share there games with other systems. That isn't very smart unless they share them with Nintendo, then it's ok. Overall, this system beats out all the others ones ever made.

on 4th May 2005Not trying to make fun, so please don't take it that way...but they are still making GameCubes. At least in USA, Japan, and Europe. Just try your local electronic/gaming store. If you don't have one of those, try K-Mart or Wal-Mart. Anyway, The GC is awesome, McShi. You're right.

on 6th May 2005I`m in Europe Samus and they've been out of production for months here. The company gave me a black GC in August but I passed it onto my niece (she wasn't very happy, wanted a PS2 instead). Although I respect your opinions, lets be factual. It`s not awesome or the best console by far. With little competition, they`ve made the best hand-helds. That`s probably what they should stick with. I doubt they`re still being produced if Europe stopped. 6 months ahead of us over there? I could be wrong.

on 11th May 2005Okay, in all honestly, the GCN may be out of production, but you can still buy one. If there are none on sale in Europe, most likely they have already been sold.

on 29th Oct 2005They are still in production - I live in the uk and you can buy them in any computer games shop and they are easily the best console ever made... apart from maybe the snes.

on 2nd Nov 2005No look, please take this from someone who works in the industry : they are no longer in production ! Havent been for ages. Sure, they still selling the surplus stock pile at reduced cost in some stores but they no longer in production here. In addition, stockists are no longer buying them in. come on people, for godsake... it's time to let go... it failed, it's gone and the revolution wont be around till the year 2020 or whatever.. A lot of you will be proud owners of xbox 360 or ps3's...I know how harsh it must be but get over it !! I hear the new handhelds crashing too... Mwahhaa ha haaaaa !

on 3rd Nov 2005The XBOX is only in production because they have to replace all of the defective ones. We had about 8 used XBOX's at Gamestop (where i work), and now we have one because they all were defective and we had to replace them. I have had gamecubes come back defective, but only because someone ran a car over them. Both the 360 and PS3 are going to be uber-expensive (again, I WORK IN THE INDUSTRY, TOO). Gamecubes are of better quality and are sold at a reduced price to that of the PS2 AND XBOX. The Revolution will probably be a solid $300 USD or less, where the 360 is AT LEAST $400, and is not innovative. Software companies will come around soon. Face it. Bill Gates only made the XBOX because he was bored and wanted a little of Sony's business, AND IT STILL SUCKS.
P.S. I do have an XBOX now, and the games I've tried are mostly horrible for it. The only one I love is Fable.GiantElectric
on 5th Nov 2005Yes, I stand corrected 182meets2112- those 8 xboxes you speak of support your argument & clearly demonstate the blatant lack of quality components in Xbox, (throughout its entire production history). I would dispute the whole business with the cubes being better quality in comparison though- Sure, lines have been recalled through defective manufacturing but conclusive tests prove: Xbox can infact withstand the impact from sherman tanks, a large indian elephant called Boo Boo AND a big fat man called bob molisky from colechester (uk). Bob jumped furiously on one for a period of two hours whilst eating his lunch at a plant in milton keynes; he then took it home & successfully completed The chronicles of Riddick... (thats an xbox exclusive btw). Glad to hear you've finally switched back- you know it makes sense.. even if you only play overhyped rpg's.

on 7th Nov 2005Say whetever you want, GiantE. Nintendo Revolution WILL NOT fail. AND...do you know how many Nintendo DS units sold across the world? Oh yeah! Over 6.5 MILLION. How many has PSP sold? Wait? How could this be? Just over 2 million? Yup. As of October 1st, NDS more than TRIPLED the PSP in units sold. Anyway...the next-gen war is still too far away to really know the winner. But I can tell you one thing is for sure...Nintendo will still be and will always be in the game.
P.S. I work at GameStop too, for over 2 years now.GiantElectric

I'd like to commend you two teaboys for sorting out any misinformation here (and in your spare time too). When you've finished stocking the shelves & sweeping-up, maybe you should ask your supervisor to reconsider promotion ?
Ps- I cant tell you where I work right now or about my 16yr position- because I'm hocking promo freebies all over the place.jlofty
on 9th Nov 2005ninty revo will rule an xbox 360 will still be another microsoft failure.
GiantElectric
on 10th Nov 2005lol ^ whats that ? A protest ? By the time the revolutions released, the other two companies will have already established a userbase along with securing titles. Its a done deal, doesn't stand A CHANCE. What was the first microsoft failure btw ? The op system you're using right now perhaps?
* At this point worldwide readers, above the age of consent, will be wondering just how significant some games franchise in the states is and.. why the hell they even matter...182meets2112
on 10th Nov 2005Alright GiantE, stop now. Here's the biggest thing: XBOX IS AMERICAN MADE. It wasn't made by the UK or Japan. I AM AMERICAN (and a proud one at that). I favor a foreign system over what represents American design. You've recieved an import. Chances are, Microsoft has given you better treatment to boost oversea sales. Nintendo doesn't produce mediocre products because they know it won't sell, and they have a strong sense for the consumer.
In opposition to your earlier comment about XBOX integrity that included the use of an 800 pound elephant, if I recall correctly. You saw a fake. I could easily destroy an XBOX as well as destroy a Gamecube. The difference is, the XBOX will also break on its own, and much sooner than the Gamecube.
When we speak for our retail store, we're not trying to be experts on the products like a Microsoft official would. We ARE, however, experts on the consumer. We know consumers. For the most part, consumers only buy XBOX to play exclusive games. I will also add that this is the primary reason people buy Gamecube, but the list of exclusive titles for Gamecube - with strong respect to the better rated titles - is much longer and includes many more classic games that all gamers enjoy.
Seeing as you are employed for 17 years with a particular business, I thought you would have the sense to fully evaluate both systems without prjudice, and also take heed to the consumer aspect as well. I have learned this already, and I will continue using this valuable skill no matter where MY career leads me.GiantElectric
on 11th Nov 2005There's no prejudice here 182... Generally Xbox sales are higher and the unit is more popular. It's a fact, I have to listen daily to these prepubescent, misinformed arguments from customers... I'm really just passing on a message from seniors - the movers & shakers, the decision makers. Fact 2- The Nintendo Game cube is no longer in production. Fact 3- The Nintendo revolution IS still in development. Fact 4- Boo, Boo the Indian elephant travels the Newfoundland circus route with her gypo owner: " sablo, the amazing five armed man ". I think its disgusting the way dumb yank.. (and a proud one)... I mean...Americans repeatedly bite the hand that feeds them. Furthermore, you obviously endorse forced slave labour at the Nizimitizumuniami corporation.

on 11th Nov 2005Just like to comment that revolution will be out before the playstation 3. Listen to the current gaming news.
GiantElectric
on 14th Nov 2005According to Nintendos resource centre, E3 conference execs & nameless area managers with sticks up themselves-
First, the Revolution console was due to be released end of 2005, then mid 2006..
lately reported: 2007 ( later than 360 or ps3 ) and thats NOT in europe. Perhaps your offical game mag tells you differently- must be true because it says so in black and white!SamusAran551
on 15th Nov 2005That was a low blow, GiantE. Don't bring our countries into this, I am a proud American too. Anyway, we don't poke fun at the UK do we? So let's talk strickly video games and no more of that garbage.
jlofty
on 15th Nov 2005nintendo themselves have said it will be out before christmas 2006 so as far as i'm concerned thats true
GiantElectric
on 16th Nov 2005hmmm.. well with low blows aside, still dont understand the relevance of your preference. All the microsoft components are manufactured in china. Translation-
" I just dont get you dude, are you for real? and... Have a nice day ".TOMLEECEE
on 17th Nov 2005Whoa! Everybody calm down! It's gone from sniping about which console's best to the brink of intercontinental war!! Who'd have thought the comments pages could get so tit for tat?!?! Now everyone count to 10. And as for the comments on who has the more prestigious position within the industry - I think the retail workers are every bit as important as the developers and marketing guys and journos.
GiantElectric
on 17th Nov 2005.. But I wanted to mention Gun culture, funding of terrorist organizations, the undermining of constitutional guarantees & the pyrimid eye thingy on the American dollar bill / One world secret goverments & weird reptile creatures were to follow.
S`just no fun anymore.GiantElectric
on 21st Nov 2005Ps- With ref to Nintendos Revolutuion console release date - In case you haven't noticed, this company have lied to consumers for years- eg:- if you flip up the japanese screen titles on mario, you will actually get quotes from the necromanicas- thats an adaption on the satanic bible !!! Pure evil Kids, Say NO and resist...
Doug Dirt on 7th Feb 2006
Guys calm down a little please. Lets be a little more sensitive to other peoples feelings and opinions thankyou. It would also be helpful if people would just stick to facts and not indulge us in fanciful half truths. XBox 360, PS3 and Revolution have been designed for the intellectually challenged, but for the real gamers with discerning tastes - the big news is once again Sega. Yes the rumors are true: the Bandai, SNK & Sega consortium are set to release Dreamcast 2. Yep, out by Christmas - this is going to be the ticket to console heaven. End of story.

Its out of production, they stopped making them. Where can I get one like you? I tried a local Garage sale but they wouldn't give it away for fear of reprisals.
