    Good Points

    At this moment in time it's hard to say any.


    Bad Points

    Decline in service. Arrogance. I, my wife and latterly, my son have been loyal customers of Yorkshire Bank. My 18 year old son, a student with a (relatively) well paid part time job at Tesco requested a debit card at YB. This was rejected as he did not meet their 'systems' criteria. I had a meeting with the deputy branch manager where I indicated that our track record as customers deserved better and that I was contemplating closing my accounts (in total current accounts, salaries, ISA`s etc , approx £50K / annum (no overdraft) because of their intransigence. This was met with a shrug of the shoulders - `take it or leave it`. If ever the message was p*** o** and take your business elsewhere this was it. Needless to say I am complaining to YB head office. My son has found the appropriate account elsewhere. Yorkshire Bank have therefore lost a future customer for a credit card / loan / mortgage or other financial product.


    General Comments

    I cannot believe how they have become so distant from the reality of the market place i.e. competition. As a customer of long standing, who has never given them any problems, I expected better. Perhaps if I had been a `cash cow` i.e. in debt to them credit card / mortgage the attitude would have been different. I conducted a `straw poll` in my Company's office recently and... surprise, surprise.. I was the only Yorkshire Bank customer out of 30 odd people.
