Quick, cold weather starts, good low end torque, well proven in the Dodge Ram truck as the standard engine for the Ram 1500
Bad Points
Poor fuel milage, a little noisy under heavy throttle.
General Comments
I was already familiar with the Jeep Liberty 3.7 Litre SUV from its performance in the Ram truck. Jeep chose it for the Liberty over the 4.0 in-line for its compactness (necessary for the short nose of the Liberty). Now it replaces the 4.0 in the Grand Cherokee - must be good for a lot of people!
