Wonderful bullet proof engine.
Great lights
Comfortable with loads of luggage.
Great brakes.
Terrible front suspension.
Unsure steering, see above.
Clutch squeel.
Many recals.
Its sounds good, it sounds bad. Firstly the Honda Silverwing Scooter looks great, and basically drives well. I have just finished a two year relationship with this Honda Mothership, its love and some shame. The Suzuki Burgman 650 is "just" that bit better though, I have to admit. Whilst the Silverwing design is chiq, servicing and getting at service parts is not. Rust and rattles start to attack, and some of the fasteners for the plastic bits and pieces are flimsy or silly.
However, it gave bullet proof reliabilty, and other than that ever squeeky clutch, nothing else bothered us. Do check the front suspension well, mine was knackered after 5000 kms, and no, I didn't go off road. Great fuel tank of 16 ltrs. Tyres and brake pads last around 10,000 kms, maybe a bit more. Would I buy one again, actually no, gone over to the competition. In six months I'll write again in pain or joy.
One last note. I too have been on two wheels
(proper ones) for 30 years. Since two years I found the Big Scooters. Would I return to a bike, NO. I love it!
