Fantastic range of military units to use and there are many ways to use them tactically.
When you are in battle you can use only a limited amount of units, and sea battles are done automatically.
Rome: Total War is a well researched game, in terms of units you can use and the tactics you can deploy.
The game takes time to get into and can keep you engrossed for hours, especially when you are at war a lot. The only problems I can find are that the sieges can get repetitive and the amount of units you can use seems small once you have learnt the commands of the game.
