General Comments

I eat at Subway regularly and absolutely love the food.
The bread is baked fresh in their in-store ovens on a daily basis and they also bake cookies and danish fresh too. The store is always kept nice and clean and a big point for me is clean loos (I always wonder what the kitchens are like if the loos are dirty).
The serving staff wear gloves that they change for every sandwich, so inspire confidence that they are not transferring germs onto your sandwich. The sandwiches are huge. They are actually bagettes, but really soft not crusty. If you are very hungry you may just manage the footlong and you can choose your own salad ingrediants. They have a set amount that they put in, but in my local store (in Bournemouth) they are always willing to add a little more salad if you want it. The sauces that come with the sandwich are delicious and once again you can choose, or have more than one put on if you want it. There are lots of different fillings available but my favourites are BBQ rib or the melt (cheese, turkey, bacon and ham). They also offer salads or wraps, they have just introduced low carb wraps, great if you are on a low carb diet.
They have just started introducing toasted sandwiches, so I will be interested to see how they taste once my local store gets the toaster.
Any bad points? They can be a little expensive with the 6" sandwich starting from around £2 (ham) and rising to £3 (chicken teriacki, steak), but this does not leave you hungry as you get such a big sandwich. They run meal deals and regularly offer discounts so I feel they compare well to other food chains. The coffee is good, in actual fact I think it compares just as well as starbucks or costa and is lot cheaper. The cups are smaller, but if you eat or drink in the store, you get free refills on your drinks. They also do a good deal on a coffee and danish if you just want a snack.
I would definitely recommend Subway to those that have not tried it before.
