Good Points

Very lightweight(2 1/2 lbs) good handling. Easy loading. Bolt-action. .22 cal. good starter gun

Bad Points

A little creaky. Since this is a multi-pump it cant relly be used for hunting that well since the pumping scares off animals. short barrel

General Comments

Overall I really like this Crosman 2289G gun. It has served me well by harvesting a rabbit and a bushytail. Has very conveinet loading by being a bolt action. Light weight is good for toting around on long walks. It has a velocity of 525 fps (advertised) i haven't checked it on a chrony. It groups about 1 3/4 in. at 10 yards which is pretty good being a $55 gun. The pumping can scare game though, and the short barrel compromises accaurcy and range. All in all i am satisfied with my little rifle and would recommend it to beginners and novice shooters.

As for this weapon not being any good for hunting due to being a multi-pump, I have taken game with other multi-pump weapons. Most notibly the 1377 American Classic pump pistol in .177. They can be quietly pumped, will hold a charge for periods at a time, reasonably accurate, and powerful enough at close range that they will do the job. Would you cock a spring gun and leave it that way overnight while waiting in ambush? Yet I have done so with pneumatics without any ill consequence. Hunting success goes with the abillity of the hunter, not necessarily the tools.
