Avlida hotel Was the cheapest deal for a four star hotel. The photos looked ok so we thought we should try it, I did well.

The food was fabulous. It was varied and themed every night, (we mostly dined at night), never noticed anything repeated and it tasted just fine, a good mixture of worldwide cuisine. As good as a number of restaurants I had been to in paphos when I last went on a self catering accommodation,. The service was quick in the restaurant and at the bar, and the waiters were polite and helpful. The prices were not all that high at all, you get more or less the same deal from bars in bar street, without the swimming pool and the sun beds to go with them.


Most of the extra facilities like TV remote, steam bath Jacuzzi etc... we had to pay a deposit for, that was returned when we handed back the keys or whatever thing it was that we used.
There was also a good mixture of entertainment, during our stay we saw a Greek dancing night and a karaoke night, there was also a casino evening but we choose to miss that one.

All the staff were helpful to us. We had no difficulties communicating with anyone there and they were all very friendly.

Our rooms were really great, clean and fully functioning bath, toilet Television and air-conditioning. Clean towels, soap and shampoo were provided for every day, and staff had no problem in providing us with extra pillows for and on a couple of occasions extra soap and shampoo. The rooms also seemed to be a bit bigger than some of the photographs suggest.


The location is excellent, there is a bus service running outside the hotel that goes to coral bay, the market and bar street/harbour area for less than 60p, runs every few minutes.

The swimming pool area was excellent. It is nicely themed with a number of big waterfalls and a lazy river on the sun terrace area. Fast service from the pool bar. There were a couple of games, pool, arcades ping pong to keep busy with the kids as well. Good variety of snack food available.


There is a nice thick-sand beach that is less than 5 minute walk from the hotel with sunbeds and the rest, not many water sports but enough to keep busy.

Also, harbour area and bar street were close by, around about 15-20 minutes on foot. there are also a number of more peaceful and quiet pubs and restaurants around the hotel which are worth taking a look.

The market area was close by as stated in hotels description and websites , but it is best to ask for directions there from the reception as the road leading there has no sign.

Avlida hotel was a really good deal, could have paid a lot more elsewhere to find the same quality as this hotel. In looking at the other reviewers reports, I must say that there have probably been dramatic changes at the hotel. maybe management? staff? I don't know, but it's a nice place to stay, very good value for money, definitely a four star quality with not a high price at all.
