Noisy when cleaning.
Clean and charge takes a while up 50 mins.
Can't use in shower.

Had this Braun 8595 Activator Mains Rechargeable Shaver now about five months, so I'm well used to it and feel qualified to give an honest review. I shave every day of the week and like everyone else I hate it, so spending a fourtune on a cool electric razor seemed to make the whole chore not so boring. Won't bore you with details, you already know this razor costs a lot and cleans itself, that appears to be common knowledge. the most important thing is how well does it shave you and how close does it get. Q:Close as a blade A:No. but having said that its not a blade, so its never going too! if you spend five mins shaving with this, it gives a very good shave, but after the novelty's gone, who wants to spend 5mins in the mirror looking at themselves shaving. I have found the best thing to do is shave while your doing something else, I personnaly shave on the way to work in the car while driving although i would be a fool to recommend this! Because its not as close as blade you do still get a five o'clock shadow although this usually happens at 3 o'clock. So if im going out in the evening I shave again on way home and then stick it in the cleaning base so its ready and fully charged for the next morning. Shaving twice a day can cause a rash especially around the neck. I have found that its not great at all at picking up long hairs so shaving twice is best option if your skin can bear it or only do it on special days. If I'm going out on pull on saturday night I still resort to my trusty mach 3.
So to conclude, its been five months and the novelty is well and truely gone it still looks great, cleans itself everyday and always smells fresh and is fully charged. If you prefer foil razors this is the best you can get. Im going back to philishave, they are better with long hairs and you can use in shower, they also have the Niva lotion to help with the shaving rash. Just bought the new fangeled top of the range coolskin version and after a good test a review will follow, watch this space....

  I have used the Braun 8695 shaver for three months. I agree with the writer. If I want a close shave, I have to work at it for 10 minutes. It is slow going. The main advantage of an electric shaver is the convenience. I shave while on the stool, or when I have nothing better to do. And, I shave twice a day to keep it close.
