General Comments

I bought the Morphy Richards IQ Allergy Bagless Cyclonic 2000W Cylinder at the Ideal Home Exhibition at the end of last month (March), particularly because it promised to help with allergys. We have two cats and a house full of builders, so this promised to be the answer to our prayers in terms of cat hair and brick dust.

However, the biggest nightmare is that it has ABSOLUTELY NO suction power, despite the fact that it is on the "maximum" setting on the slider (what is the point of this feature? When do you ever want to hoover with minimum suction?!) I have only used it three times and it has been hopeless from day one. It barely picks up crumbs from the floor, leave alone the cat hair. I have to stop every 20 seconds to remove what few hairs get caught on the bristles (which by the way have a tendency to pop back into the hoover head when hoovering). And what is the point of the two tiny red strips on the bottom of the head that are supposed to trap hair? They are so small, they are less than hopeless and only two weeks after buying the hoover, one of them has started to deteriorate already!!

Furthermore, the design of the hoover is ridiculous. For a start it is far too heavy to manouevre easily when hoovering; I have to stop frequently during the middle of hoovering, to run back to the cylinder and pull it along behind me. It is an absolute nightmare to negotiate stairs because it is so wide and heavy it will not sit on the step. Then the hoover constantly switches itself off because the hoover hose hits against the off/on button when I am using it.
