Good Points

Excellent performance and fuel economy. Great for long distance driving. Very comfortable. Well equipped


Bad Points

Interior is a bit plasticky and unexciting. Unfortunately my experience of Skoda custoner service is that they are mediocre at best... Aftersales service is poor and, if you want to buy a new 1.9TDi, expect to wait in excess of 5-6 months!!! (even though you will be told that 5 to 6 weeks is the norm)!


General Comments

Had the Skoda 1.9TDi 1898CC from new and never had a day's trouble with it. It is extremely economical in terms of fuel costs. It has plenty of power under the hood and you can expect an extremely smooth ride. The car is well designed with several thoughtful touches (e.g. even a plastic bracket on the windscreen to hold car parking tickets etc.). People still tend to laugh if you own a Skoda... this is purely based on ignorance... most Skoda owners are more than happy with their cars.
