General Comments

The Honda Civic 2.0 Type R Sports Car puts a smile on my face every time I go out in it! The engine is fantastic and despite what you might be told pulls strongly from all revs, when you hit around 5,500rpm it changes altogether and turns into an angry animal of a car, but you can still have fun driving normally too! The steering is excellent although handling in the wet can be scary at times, and forget going out in one when it is icy, leave it at home and get the train...trust me. Its a loud car and at motorway speeds it can literally give you a headache, the ride too is very hard but you must expect that on a car like this. This car is very raw, there is no traction control, no ESP its just a pure hot hatch, how they are supposed to be! Ok advice time...front tyres are expensive (£150 each) and they may only last 10-15,000 miles, fuel consumption is high too (average around 25 mpg) and servicing can be high,£600 the highest. But ultimately the car is very reliable and as I discovered the car has the best resudual values of any car in its class too. Dont be afraid to spend the extra £1000 on Air conditioning if buying new as you will get most of that back when you eventually sell the car on.
Im on my 2nd Type R now and I love it to bits, every other car on the road seems boring by comparison, and there is nothing like taking on Lotus elises and Porsche boxters at the traffic lights... in a Civic!

I'd agree with the majority of this review, had mine since new now covered 90k - performance handling and wear tear still holding up well. Downside TYRES very soft compounds dont last, the immobiliser cuts in after 20 seconds (too soon) the air con has been less than good.......that said its still a machine that moves you and your soul......
