Bad Points
Poor eyepieces, wobbly mounting, sold everywhere. Hobby spoilers usually sold in the run up to xmas.

General Comments
The Tasco 114mm Reflector is sold in many places, but I cannot recommend them for quality or price. Tasco has a terrible name in the astronomy community for being a hobby spoiler.

This is not snobbishness on the part of those with expensive equipment, wishing to exclude those on a budget, but rather through hard won experience!

If you must spend £200+ on a starter reflector telescope, please do consider the Russian Tal 1 (4.5") around £199 (or motorised version; Tal 1M)at around £270. These have exceptionally well made and sturdy mounts, and come with half decent eyepieces and accessories to get you started.

Also consider the cheaper, larger aperture, and more portable Skywatcher M130 (5.1") at around £160.

Those who are new to astronomy need a telescope they can grow into!

TAL-1 is a good telescope, although most experienced astronomers would probably recommend a 6" Dobsonian scope for the same kind of money. The important factor here is aperture and stability.

<br>Look at the Sky-Watcher Skyliner 6" Dobsonian Reflector for £160-£200
