Good Points

They can get you the credit you want.

Bad Points

From the day our loan was taken we were in arrears through no fault of our own we had taken gap insurance and the first installment goes to that leaving you in arrears but you dont get told. I then got a statement and every month we were paying late payment charges that we did not know about. Our aggreemet ends in june and we still owe over £1000 in so called late payment charges - they are not getting a penny!

General Comments

You would be better off at yes car credit - you know where you stand with them - no hidden charges unlike this company, oh and dont take gap insurance unless you want to end up like us in arrears you know nothing about!

   i have used bct twice and found them to be excellent , everything was made clear to me maybe you should have read your agreement better ,and maybe you would not owe £1000.its ok signing on the dotted line but if you didnt understand it then why sign . everyone is told about the gap insurance, i was anyway

   The comments made about BCT by the above user who claims he received £1000 in late payment charges and is better off with Yes Car Credit needs his/her head seriously checked.
   
   I worked as a collections manager with BCT from 2000-2003. Customers will always tell you it is NEVER their fault payments were missed, and always over exaggerate their charges. BCT are one of the few credit companies I worked for that were actually reasonable with their charges and the way they treated customers. WHen I worked there we were not charging for bounced direct debits! Every company does that these days!
   
   And as far as the comment about GAP insurance, YES, the first payment is for GAP. But you dont have a car payment due that same month! Your car payments start the second month, which means you are NOT in arrears the whole time. Utterly impossible.
   
   And if anyone thinks you are better off with Yes Car Credit, rush them to A&E quick cos I think they've been hit over the head or dropped at birth. YCC were the subject of a BBC watchdog enquiry which aired in July 2005, are also being investigated by FSA, are millions of pounds in debt, and about to go bust. STAY CLEAR of YCC if you can! Check them out on BBC Watchdog website.
   
   You can not listen to people like the ones that left the other comment. BCT have gone from strength to strength over the last 2 years. I am no longer with them, but still admire how much they have improved, and how much money they are putting into their services! Well done!

   Six months ago I bought a car financed through BCT. I too opted for gap insurance and have not been hit with any late charges. It was explained to me at the time of purchase that my first payment would be for the gap insurance and my actual car payments would only start the following month. So far no worries with BCT. They are pricey but nobody else would finance me.
