Good Points

:Accuracy, if you miss it wasn't the rifle's fault :Light weight, you can carry the carbine all day :pellet loads easy, you can't fire 10 shots faster than a bsa superten but you can fire 11 shots faster than a bsa superten (unless he's got a spare magazine)

Bad Points

not alot maybe power, wish I had got the fac version

General Comments

A good hunting rifle, use air arms (field)pellets if you want accuracy and power (roundheads not pointed, there is no energy transfer to the target using pointed pellets). The allen key grub screw (under the allen key lock screw 1.5mm) can be used to set the power on a chrono, max is about 14-15 f/p with 16.4 gr pellets or set it less than 12 f/p if you don't have a fac (right). Or get yourself a fac just for air rifles, alot of hassel, less hassel than a bullet fac. £50 for 5 years.

Hi Can anyone please tell me how to adjust the power of my s400 carbine in .177 cal to a higher power than 12ft/lb? In South-Africa we dont have restictions on the power limit. It's a great gun! Thanks

Ye i also would like to know how to up the power on this great gun. PLEASE let us know.

  • ian1234 on 16th Jan 2004

the power is adjusted via a 1.5mm allen key grub screw underneath the 1.5mm locking allen key grub screw. take the locking screw out then turn the power screw out to let more air through. but you will only get about two f/lbs adjustment. to get more than that its a job for a gunsmith and buying parts etc.

PLEASE dont try this as it only adjusts the trigger release in order to get the tuning correct. You wont get much adjustment, certainly not 2ft/lbs.
