Interior rattles and squeaks a little (it is French !!)
Little bit juicy.
Noisy on cold start
I've just bought an L plate Renault Clio 1.8 16V. Performance is much better than expected, I have previously owned a Megane coupe 2.0 16v and wasn't expecting the Clio to be so much quicker. The engine pulls well through the whole rev range. Gear box has to be worked quite hard to get the most out of the engine.
The interiors nice although if you're a bit of the larger side then its advisable to buy some wider seats, I'm 6'3" and 16 st and the seats do hug you very well to say the least when you are a bit on the bigger side. That said though this can be a God send when going round corners in the dry in this thing. It sticks to the road like nothing this side of a Scooby.
My only complaint was the thing broke down 10 miles after purchase, it turns out the water hadn't been filled and the engine was over heating......a quick water fill up and let the engine cool down and that problem was fixed. I've no doubt that I will have to get a few bits and bobs repaired soon (Its been recommended I change the Cambelt soon just to be on the safe side)
Over all I'm very very pleased with my purchase.
