Cheap, reliable, easy to use
Low power
The Beeman FH500 is the First airgun I ever owned, also one of the cheapest on the market, so I wasn't expecting too much from it.
The gun is very easy to use, with not much cocking effort, and fairly low recoil; great for first time shooters. The gun is very light and easy to handle.
At 500fps in .177 calibre, it is slightly lacking in power, but still very effective at up to 40 feet or more. It is powerful enough to kill rats at short range, but if you're going for humane long range kills, go for a higher power rifle.
The accuracy isn't at all bad either, very good grouping from 20 feet. The scope is not very high quality, so adjusting it can be tricky.
The stock is some kind of fibre glass. Although it is strong, it's obviously not as aesthetically pleasing as a wooden stock. The gun has a nice matt finish, and the muzzle break provides extra balance.
I've shot thousands of pellets with my FH500, and haven't run into any major problems.
Considering the price, this is a great gun! Perfect for young shooters and beginners.
