Good Points

Compact, simple to use to take photos (once display is understood), quality of image surprisingly good, PC connection straightforward.

Bad Points

Downloading images to PC can be variable in terms of crashing PC but no pictures lost to date. The LCD display is somewhat confusing and it is easier to control the Smartmedia card content from a PC than from the camera itself.

General Comments

The camera was purchased to produce quick photoshots for web site content. Much faster and better than scanning photos for this work. Being smaller than the SLR camera I usually depend on it can be carried easily in the pocket so is therefore usually to hand. The manual is not great at explaining everything and I have yet to master deletion of images direct off the camera, however, it is easy via Windows Explorer on the PC. Upgrading to 16MB gives around 80 shots, the lowest resolution setting then isn't worth bothering with, as better results reducing file size can be achieved with an image editing suite post download. I use Paint Shop Pro 4.0 and MS Photo Editor rather than the bundled image software.
