Good Points
Very spacious and practical car helped by unique translucent roof,
Comfortable and quiet drive,
Good performance and corners well for large car,
39-41 average mpg seems reasonable for size of car.
Bad Points
Mainly electrics as previously recorded in other reviews,
Climate Control, although powerful for both heating and cooling doesn't follow the set points and does its own thing!
Main dealers are not the best but are friendly - first name terms but that might be the number of visits Ive had.
General Comments
I have the Peugeot 307 2,0ltr SE 110bhp version, I've done 70,000 miles in 2.5 years and love the general 'feel' of the car. It drives well, but is let down very badly by small but important points.
It has sheared the bolts holding the alternater belt idling sprocket 3 times in first 6 months before replacing all components, no problems with this since
New wheel bearing after 17,000 miles
Like many the CD multichanger stopped working with my cds stuck inside
ESP / ABS warning lights activated - 3 visits and off the road for a total of 5 months waiting for various parts and direction from Peugeot UK to solve the problem, eventually replaced main wiring loom
Loss of all electrics for 2-3 secs whilst driving, quite diconcerting!!
Front screen washers operating when trying to wash rear window
Knocking from suspension - not yet resolved
Having said all this, all-round it is probably the most comfortable car Ive ever driven (Ive been diving 30+ years now), mine is due for renewal in 4 months time and I will have to think long and hard -have I been unlucky (they were only available for 2 months before i got mine so it was an early edition) or is this the standard Peugeot produce these days? It really would be superb with increased reliability
The toyota Corrolla verso comes recommended as an alternative in the new shape.
Its hard to score this car below it could easily get *8,*9 and 10* - but i can really only base this on my own experiences not what might have been.
