Good Points

Excelent quality, easy to use in low light situations (including night hunting), paralax adjustable (focus based), target-style turrets with finger adjustable 1/4MOA clicks for windage and elevation, waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof.

Bad Points

So far, none.

General Comments

I purchased the BSA Air Rifle 27 X 32mm Scope to replace an old Tasco Rimfire scope I had, that has a 3/4 tube diameter and 15mm objective lens, 4X zoom and paralax at50 yards. The reason for my change was that with the old Tasco scope, I could not shoot in twilight hours, which tend to be the best hunting time.

I did plenty of research, and I finally decided on the BSA Scope. I decided to mount it using a B-Square 1-Piece Interlock, 1" x 11mm, AA Adjustable Mount. After some mounting issues (due to the rifle's dovetails, not the mount; see http://www.reviewcentre.com/review151676.html), I finally got the mount on. I have used this mount for night hunting, and any regular flashlight will provide enough illumination for this scope all the way out to 30 or 40 yards. I was amazed at how clear this scope made everything look; basically, if there is enough light to see something with your bare eyes, you will see it through the scope.

This scope has a duplex style reticle, which is very convenient, as it will not block out your target. The scope is not unreasonably priced, and has withstood all the shooting I have done with my Daisy Winchester 1000X (which has quite a bit of recoil for an air rifle) without a glitch. Regarding the antifogging, I would consider it first class. I live in Panama, Central America, and I have slept with the rifle in my room and the air conditioner on, and then taken the rifle straight out of my room to do some target shooting, with no fogging on the lenses at all (consider that 9 out of 12 months in Panama we have above 95% humidity, and temperatures are above 25 degrees Celsius year round, while I sleep with the AC set at 18 degrees Celsius)

I strongly recommend this scope to anyone with a magnum air rifle, as it comes with everything you need.

    Hey,
I recently purchased a shadow 1000 and upon reading your review decided to get the BSA 2-7 x 32 sweet sixteen model scope. I mounted it using an adjustable B-Square mount and with weaver rings. I however, could not get it to work correctly for the life of me. This is my first scope so it could be my fault but I am pretty sure that the scope malfunctioned. I would sight it in at 25 yards but the scope would not stay zeroed. It would stay zeroed for some shots and then out of nowhere not anymore. If I tightened the scope rings or even just put it down and shot the gun 20 minutes later, it would shoot everywhere. I also, could not make any successful adjustments with the elevation turret. I went as far as to put the gun in a clamp and see if the elevation changed with me twisting the turret. While the cross-hairs definitily moved left and right, I could not tell if they were moving up and down. I also tried different pellet types. I would always get groups (indicative the the gun was shooting in the same place) but never where the cross-hairs pointed. I have no idea what's wrong with the scope. I sent it back as it is still under warranty and I hope they replace it for me and I can try out a new one.

    Sniper,

I don't know about the sweet 16; as far as I understand, the sweet 16 (is it Sweet 16 or Sweet 17?) is the low-end line of scopes from BSA (although I am not 100% sure about this). In the case of the AR line, I have one in my Daisy Winchester 100X (Brazilian version) and one on a tuned Gamo Shadow 1000 (I put a James Maccari spring, a custom 464 Navel Brass top hat, an apex seal, a GTX trigger, a Beeman Ported Muzzle Break, and a Hunter 440 wooden stock). Both are on one-piece mounts (the Winchester has a B-Square one-piece mount, and the Shadow has a Beeman one-piece mount; both mounts have 2 screws per ring, and 4 screws on the dovetail). I should point out that the Winchester 1000X has more recoil than the Shadow...

On neither riffle do I have any problems with the scope. However, in the case of the Shadow, I used to have a 2 piece scope-mount, and with this system, I did have scope creep (even though in this system I kept the Gamo's included scope stop, which I removed after installing the one piece mount).

It is possible that your problems are:
    1. That your rings are not holding up to the recoil (try using one-piece mounts)
    2. That the scope is not Air Rifle rated; because of the odd recoil of Air Rifles (forward and back motion instead of only back like on fire arms), if a scope is not AR rated, it will get ruined by the forward and backward recoil of an air-rifle

I would first check to see if you have any scope creep, which I suspect to be the main cause of your problems... Try changing scope rings if necessary.

    Felipe,

I'm sorry, I wrote that last comment kind of fast. When I purchased the "Sweet 17 2-7 X32" I thought it was the one you had purchased. Hence, I assumed it was working right for you and worked well with the Shadow 1000. I must have misread the scope brand and didn't realize that you, in fact, don't own a sweet 17. The good news is that I am getting a brand new scope back because I sent it in while it was under warranty. I think I am going to return the unopened package, buy a brand new scope and ditch the sweet 17. Which exact BSA model adjustable magnification scope would you recommend I buy?

Also, I plan on using a one piece B-Square to do all my mounting.

    Thanks,

The one I got I bought it from airgunexpress.com, and you can check it out at http://airgunexpress.com/Scopes-Optics/bsa_optics/bsa2-7x32scope209-06-2732.htm if you'd like. The model is the BSA AR 2-7x32mm (AR stands for Air Rifle), and when I bought it, it was around $65, but now you can find it at lower prices (I think it is $55 in the site I mentioned above). If you intend to do long range shooting, and especially if you intend to get into FT, then I would recommend a scope with a lot more magnification (at least 24X), so that you can accuratly measure distances by focusing the scope. I would also then recommend a mili-dot type scope, so you won't need to be adjusting the POI everytime you shoot a different distance. But these scopes tend to be a lot more expensive than the BSA scope, and my results with the BSA scope have been excelent (proof of it is that I have 2 on my rifles; one on the shadow 1000 and one on a Daisy Winchester 1000X). Whichever scope you finally decide on, I would suggest you buy a one piece scope with 4 screws to set to the rifle, and 2 screws on each ring. There are a lot of brands that carry such mount, including Beeman and B-Square (these are the ones that I have and both have worked fine). The reason for these mounts is that 2 piece mounts will not stand to the recoil of the gun, and the problem you had could be the mounts and not the scope. Keep in mind that the mounts may cost as much as the scope itself, as they run for about $60. Felipe
