This reciever is a Monster. Overall it is a VERY well made 600 watt rated stereo reciever from the mid 70's. It can power anything with a voice coil and always sounds superior.
It's a rare breed. It's Big. And it's Heavy. Dropping it on your foot wouldn't break the reciever but you may have to go to the hospital. It's features cannot compare with the new HT recievers because it is just too old.
The Sansui G-9700 Pure Power DC stereo Reciever.
Each of the four channels have 4 75 watt power transistors- this means 300 watts per channel with a 600 watt per channel peak using 2 speakers (half that with 4 speakers you still have a 300 watt per channel peak). It has a .01% THD rating (total harmonic distortion) and fine tuned and precice digital and mechanical frequency displays with LED power bars. Even tho it is old, it is a wonderous thing to have. You can always hook it up to a pre-amp or a newer reciever to power your mains. It sounds great and looks good. It's another power toy when you consider it. You don't really NEED that strong an amp, but it's fun to brag about.
